Product Overview

Products Description
The operating sequence is reclaiming, collecting, conveying, elevating and discharging. The front reclaiming head cuts into the compacted silage face and strips material away. The material then enters the conveyor, where a driven chain-and-scraper assembly carries it upward and rearward to the discharge point.
The long-boom conveyor provides reach and elevated discharge capability, reducing the repeated loading, travel and tipping cycles normally associated with using a general-purpose wheel loader for silage handling.
Key Features and Benefits
- Hydraulic operation: hydraulic power provides controlled and consistent movement, with straightforward adjustment during operation.
- Continuous reclaiming: reclaiming and conveying work as one process, making the machine suitable for frequent daily feed handling.
- Chain-and-scraper conveyor: well suited to relatively dense silage with variable moisture content.
- Long-boom high-level discharge: helps feed equipment positioned at different receiving heights.
- Heavy-duty steel frame: welded structural steel provides rigidity and durability under repeated load.
- Reduced manual handling: mechanises reclaiming, conveying and elevation to lower labour requirements.
- Serviceable layout: chains, sprockets, bearings, cutting tools and hydraulic components are accessible maintenance items with clear service intervals.
Operating Principle
Once the machine is running, the hydraulic system supplies power to the reclaiming and conveying functions. Cutting tools engage the silage face and remove material continuously. The guard and guide surfaces direct the reclaimed material into the conveyor, where circulating chains drive the scrapers upward along the boom before discharge into the receiving machine.

Main Systems and Components
Reclaiming system
Includes the reclaiming head, cutting tools, guard and associated drive components for continuous removal from the silage face.
Hydraulic system
Typically comprises a hydraulic pump, motors, cylinders, control valves, reservoir, hoses and fittings for the main operating functions.
Conveying system
Consists of chains, sprockets, scrapers, drive shafts and tensioning components for continuous upward transport.
Support and mobility arrangement
Maintains stability during operation and assists machine positioning or adjustment on site.
Materials & Exterior Design
The machine uses a heavy-duty welded steel structure. Main beams, braces and support members are designed for resistance to bending, torsion and repeated loading. The reclaiming zone uses wear-resistant steel and high-strength cutting tools to withstand direct contact with compacted silage.
The illustrated machine uses agricultural green as the primary finish, with black reclaiming and guarding components. The long-boom profile and compact hydraulic arrangement give the machine a distinctive agricultural equipment appearance. A suitable corrosion-protection system should include thorough surface preparation, primer and topcoat to improve durability in outdoor and humid environments.
Applications
- Dairy farms: daily silage reclaiming and feeding to TMR mixing systems.
- Beef cattle operations: silage handling for commercial beef production.
- Sheep farms: mechanised reclaiming of grass silage and compatible forage mixes.
- Integrated livestock facilities: suitable for operations with high daily feed throughput.
- Silage storage and feed-handling areas: bridges the material flow between storage, mixing, feeding and transfer operations.
Quality Control
|
QC Stage |
Control Point |
|
Incoming Inspection |
Check steel, chains, bearings, hydraulic components and cutting tools for material, dimensions and surface condition. |
|
Welding Inspection |
Inspect structural welds for continuity, penetration, cracking, porosity and deformation. |
|
Mechanical Assembly |
Verify chain alignment, sprocket engagement, shaft fit, bearing installation and fastener security. |
|
Hydraulic Test |
Check operating pressure, cylinder movement, hose connections, sealing and leakage. |
|
Running Test |
Run unloaded and under representative load; verify conveying, reclaiming, stability, vibration and abnormal noise. |
Maintenance & Service
Each shift
Check hydraulic oil level, hoses, chains, cutting tools, fasteners and unusual noise.
Routine lubrication
Lubricate bearings, chains and other moving parts at the intervals specified by operating hours.
Chain service
Inspect chain tension and sprocket wear to reduce the risk of chain jumping, shock loading and premature wear.
Cutting-tool service
Replace severely worn, deformed or damaged tools to maintain reclaiming performance.
Hydraulic service
Stop the machine and inspect the hydraulic circuit if leakage, abnormal pressure or slow movement is observed.
After-Sales Support
For export projects, a practical after-sales package should include technical documentation, installation guidance, operator training, spare-parts support and remote troubleshooting. Typical documentation includes the operating manual, maintenance instructions, hydraulic schematic, wear-parts list and safety guidance.
For common wear items such as cutting tools, chains, sprockets, bearings, seals and hydraulic hoses, maintaining a standard spare-parts list can help minimise downtime. Warranty periods and scope of coverage should follow the final commercial contract and the confirmed machine configuration.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is Hydraulic Silage Loader used for?
A: It is primarily used to reclaim silage from bunkers or stockpiles and convey it continuously to a TMR mixer, feed wagon or other feed-handling equipment.
Q: What types of silage can it handle?
A: Typical applications include corn silage, grass silage and other compatible fermented forage. Actual suitability depends on moisture content, compaction and machine configuration.
Q: Why use a dedicated silage loader instead of a wheel loader?
A: A dedicated machine combines reclaiming and continuous conveying in one process, reducing repetitive bucket loading and transfer cycles and making it better suited to frequent daily feed handling.
Q: What is the reclaiming height?
A: Reclaiming height depends on the exact model. Comparable machines cover roughly 3-9 m, while the final published figure should come from the selected model specification.
Q: How much power is required?
A: Power requirements depend on reclaiming height, conveyor length, throughput and hydraulic configuration. Confirm the requirement against the final model and power package.
Q: Why is a chain-and-scraper conveyor used for silage?
A: Silage is fibrous and often relatively moist. A driven scraper chain provides positive conveying and is well suited to sustained feed loads.
Q: Can the machine be customised?
A: Comparable machines can typically be configured around bunker geometry, reclaiming height, conveyor length and discharge height.
Q: What are the main wear parts?
A: Typical wear items include cutting tools, chains, sprockets, scrapers, bearings, seals and hydraulic hoses.
Q: What are the main maintenance points?
A: Focus on the hydraulic system, chain tension, sprocket wear, cutting-tool condition, bearing lubrication and fastener security.
