The working principle of a medium-sized truck-mounted concrete mixer is to achieve continuous mixing and efficient discharge of concrete during transportation through a sophisticated mechanical and hydraulic system.
Power Acquisition and Conversion
The power for the mixer truck comes from the engine of the vehicle chassis. A power take-off (PTO) extracts power from the engine to drive the variable displacement pump of the hydraulic system.
Mixing and Transportation
During transportation, the mixing drum rotates forward at a low speed of 1-3 revolutions per minute. The inside of the mixing drum is equipped with spiral mixing blades.
Loading
When loading at the ready-mix plant, the mixing drum rotates forward at a higher speed of 6-10 revolutions per minute.
Discharging
Upon arrival at the construction site, the rotation direction of the mixing drum is reversed (counter-clockwise), and the rotation speed is typically 3-14 revolutions per minute.
